Anne Buisson has worked closely with patients as a moderator in forums for those suffering from Crohn’s disease and haemorrhagic rectocolitis since the very early 2000s; her career began with the François Aupetit Association (AFA), first in listening to patients and then as Communication Manager in charge of raising awareness of the disease and ensuring that patients got due recognition. In 2013, she also became Head of Research and Medical Affairs, with the mission of integrating the patient as closely as possible with the clinician, researcher and promoter, as a vector of knowledge and generator of ideas. Currently Chief Executive of the AFA, her concerns remain the same: nothing that concerns patients can be achieved without input from those patients. She is a member of various commissions, including Inserm’s ethics committee, and represents patients on various bodies, including HAS and ANSM.
