Biography

Philippe Péridont was appointed Director of the Castres-Mazamet CHIC and the CH of Revel, and President of the Strategic Committee of the “Coeur d’Occitanie” regional hospital group on 15 May 2018 after having directed the hospital of Bagnols-sur-Cèze for 8 years.

Since his arrival, and despite the exceptional context of the Covid pandemic, he has undertaken numerous projects for the development of the two establishments, including, at the CHIC Castres-Mazamet, the drafting of the new Institutional Project for 2021-2026, the extension of activities such as the creation of a new Follow-up and Rehabilitation unit (SSR: Soins de Suite et de Réadaptation), the opening of a sleep-research laboratory, the recent extension of critical-care bed capacities – thanks to ERDF funding – and the extension of cross-sectional imaging capacity with the installation of a second scanner in 2021 and a second MRI in 2022.

He also developed and initiated the reconstruction project for the Revel hospital, created a part-time hospitalization activity for the Rehabilitation unit and merged the internal pharmacies of the two establishments.

He is very keen on the quality of patient reception and care and has been a member of the French High Health Authority’s (HAS: Haute Autorité de la Santé) Health Establishment Certification Board since April 2015.

The recent certification of the Castres-Mazamet CHIC and Revel CH demonstrates his commitment and the way he has brought local professionals to share own vision, since the two structures obtained a final decision from the HAS granting them the “Care Quality” rating of “Confirmed”.

Concerning the development of new technologies in the field of health, he involves the CHIC teams in innovative projects such as the COGIDO project (computerised cognitive training at home) or the Furii-Dem@ter consortium (skills and professions of the future), of which the Castres-Mazamet Institute for Training Health Professionals (IFMS) is a member.

A former member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the eHealth University, he is a regular speaker at our events.
