Osama El Hassan obtained a PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of Leicester and an MSc from Imperial College in the UK. Before and during his PhD, he spent ten years teaching and researching at universities in the Middle East and the UK. He developed an interest in Connected Health Information Systems during his thesis.

Dr. Osama El Hassan is Vice-Chairman of the Emirates Health Informatics Organization and an expert in the Health Informatics and Smart Health Department at the Dubai Health Authority. He has also maintained links with the academic sector, working as an adjunct associate professor at the School of Health and Environmental Studies (HBMSU).
