Head of digital innovation in health and telehealth, Occitania Regional Health Agency
Sylvie Cabanes oversees digital innovation in health and telehealth at the Agence Régionale de Santé Occitanie. Since 2010, she has been supporting the digital transformation of organisations by creating favourable conditions for deploying telehealth systems and stimulating and supporting innovation and digital practices in healthcare. She ensures that two basic principles are applied, namely that digital healthcare should embody human and ethical aspects in the relationship between users and healthcare professionals, and that it be accessible to all.
She began her career in 1985 in the French National Health Insurance system, while also obtaining a Diplôme d’Etudes Supérieures in business information systems from the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers.
Her curiosity and aptitude for innovation have led her to develop skills in public health, medico-economic models, new methods of remuneration and regulations governing digital medical devices. She advises players in the eHealth ecosystem in Occitania, as she has done since the first national telemedicine pilot project (ETAPES), for the first trials of organisational and pricing innovations (Article 51 of the LFSS Act, for Social Security Funding, of 2018), by issuing a call for digital health innovation projects, and more recently as part of the France 2030 digital health booster strategy.
